So as many of you know I have a slight addition to reality television. I have gone in and out of love with many casts of the Bachelor/Bachelorette, Real World, the many families of TLC...and who can forget the fabulous housewives across the country.
One show that I have had a relationship with is The Hills, I will admit that I fell in love with the cast as they began their early reality television careers on Laguna Beach. I mean who couldn't love Lauren, the girl who was always "the friend" to the man of her dreams, Kristen, the instigator who attracted a ton of drama, Stephen, Mr. Popular who was the center of the love triangle, Lo, the tride and true best friend and of course Talan, the cute skater boy. To top it all off they went to a fabulous high school in California...in other words I lived vicariously through them.
When Lauren moved away and The Hills began, I became addicted. Sadly, over the years my viewing habits of the show have ebbed and flowed. This last season, I just didn't stick with it; however, last night was the series final and I knew it would be a whopper of an ending. I wasn't able to watch the finale, but you better believe I found a clip of the final minutes this morning.
I mean, I knew that the show wasn't all together real, but there are some things that need to keep their "magic." After watching the final two minutes, I sat in amazement realizing that the show was filmed on an LA back lot. It was a crush, not super crushed but a kinda like when you realized there wasn't just one Mickey Mouse but you still end up loving Disney. However, this finale still makes me wonder was any portion of the show real? Does Justin Bobby exist? When LC bought a puppy, did she want one or did they write it into the script? Was the ongoing LC/Kristen drama real or are they really friends?
Now that The Hills has gone to reality show heaven I wonder what show I will become addicted to...any recommendations?
I am addicted to The Biggest Loser and Jill's new show Losing It. Those are my only reality tv. Well, I do watch Idol but I'm not addicted anymore and without Simon, I just don't know how long it will last.
ReplyDeleteI like Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood! I read her Storitelling book a couple summers ago and loved all the behind-the-scenes dish on 90210, and enjoyed getting to know her through it as well. And now I'm liking the show!
ReplyDeleteDiana you are so silly!
